Mind Bloom Maryland

Mind Bloom Maryland is a student-led mental health awareness and advocacy campaign based in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our work focuses on addressing mental health challenges faced by students and communities across the state by combining education, legislative advocacy, and access to reliable resources.

Founded by Noor Said and Janani Parthasarathy, students who saw firsthand the lack of clear, youth-friendly mental health education, Mind Bloom Maryland works to break stigma, encourage open conversations, and empower individuals to seek support. Through school-based outreach, community events, and policy advocacy, we aim to create long-term, systemic change in how mental health is understood and supported in Maryland.

Our mission is to promote mental health awareness, advocate for meaningful change, and provide accessible, high-quality resources to students and families across Maryland.

  • Visiting schools across Maryland to educate students on essential mental health topics, including stress management, coping strategies, recognizing warning signs, and how to seek help.
  • Creating age-appropriate, easy-to-understand educational materials that students can use both in and outside the classroom.
  • Advocating for improved mental health policies and funding by testifying before local and state-level government bodies.
  • Organizing fundraisers and community initiatives to support the creation and distribution of mental health resources.
Mission

What we do

🏫

School Outreach & Education

We partner with schools to deliver engaging presentations and workshops designed specifically for students. Our sessions focus on practical skills, reducing stigma, and helping students understand that they are not alone. Each visit includes interactive discussions and take-home materials so learning continues beyond the presentation.

📜

Legislative Advocacy

Mind Bloom Maryland believes lasting change requires action at the policy level. We participate in legislative advocacy by testifying before boards of education and government bodies to push for stronger mental health support systems, increased funding, and improved access to school-based mental health services.

💚

Fundraising & Resource Development

Through fundraisers and community support, we raise funds to create and distribute free mental health resources, including worksheets, pamphlets, and informational guides. All funds are used to directly support educational outreach and resource accessibility.
